Enefit will start offering a new electricity package in April, which will benefit the customers both by providing affordable power exchange price electricity in the summer and peace of mind by setting a fixed price for the winter. The package also includes insurance of household electrical appliances against damage caused by lightning, power failure and overload.

According to Santa Tohver, Head of the Estonian Market at Enefit, Enefit will provide a combined electricity package to make customers’ lives more comfortable and offer a solution for those who want to make the most of the seasonal price differences. ‘We see that some Enefit customers choose the power exchange package for the summer months and fix the price for the winter. Changing the electricity package twice a year seems inconvenient, so we’ll come to people’s aid and make the change automatic for everyone who wants it,’ notes Tohver.

By choosing the Seasonal Secure package, the customer gets a complete solution – it covers the electricity consumption needs of different seasons and insures household electrical appliances. For customers who choose the package, the exchange price will apply from April to September and the fixed price from October to March. Thus, the new electricity package allows customers to enjoy favourable prices in the summer, largely due to the abundant production of renewable energy, and provides peace of mind against unpredictable price peaks in winter.

‘Our guarantee to customers who have chosen the Seasonal Secure electricity package is that their fixed price for the winter period will be more affordable than or equal to the price of the 6-month fixed package offered at the same time. We will announce the price for the winter period to our customers in August,’ explains Tohver. ‘In the spring, the transition to the exchange price takes place automatically, and when the customer is at the exchange price, they can change the package or cancel the contract for free, should they wish to do so. As a bonus, the Seasonal Secure package includes insurance that covers damage to household electrical appliances caused by electrical failures,’ adds Tohver.

With the insurance included in the electricity package, household electrical appliances are protected against damage caused by lightning, power failure or overload. This gives an additional sense of security to those who already have home insurance, as many home insurances do not cover electrical failures or have a limited scope and a significantly higher excess amount.

Anyone interested can join the new electricity package from mid-April. You can already submit your request onEnefit’s website and through our customer service. We will contact all applicants in April.
