What should be taken into account when concluding a small producer contract?

In order to sell the electricity left over from production, it is necessary to sign a small producer contact. An energy contract can only be concluded with the same energy seller from whom you buy electricity for your own use. If you supply electricity to the grid without an energy contract, the network operator to whose grid your electricity generating device is connected will receive it free of charge. The energy contract of a small producer is valid together with the consumption contract. Upon termination of the electricity consumption contract with the energy seller, the energy contract will also be terminated.

How is billing process done?

The purchase prices for the resale of the produced electricity to the grid are based on the stock exchange prices in the Nord Pool Estonia area, from which we deduct the margin agreed in the contract. We obtain data on the quantities of electricity produced and supplied to the grid from Elering's data warehouse. We will bill you for the consumed electricity according to the price package agreed in the contract.

For a non-VAT residential customer, electricity generation does not complicate billing. The final balance of the electricity transmitted to the network and consumed from the network will occur automatically and is reflected in your monthly Enefit account.

As a small producer, self-employed persons and companies subject to VAT have the right to add VAT to electricity price. To do this, an invoice for the sale of produced electricity must be submitted to Enefit at the end of each month. Enefit will provide you with information on the electricity consumed from the network in advance.

The electricity sales invoice must contain the contact details of you or your company, the details of Enefit as the recipient of the invoice, the name, quantity and price of the product. It is also important to indicate the sales period and the metering point code on the invoice.
