Enefit Power's Management Board to Resume with New Composition

Starting from November 16, the board of Enefit Power, a major industrial company within the Eesti Energia Group, will continue with a renewed composition. The goal of the board is to shape Enefit Power into a company with a clear future-oriented plan focused on core business, profitability, environmental sustainability, and competitiveness.

“From mid-November, Stanislav Ignatovets will be responsible for the circular economy sector at Enefit Power, Raine Pajo will oversee asset management, Hannes Reinula will handle the chemical industry sector, and Tiit Hõbejõgi will be responsible for finance. Aleksandr Jefremov will continue leading electricity production,” listed Lauri Karp, Chairman of the Enefit Power Board, outlining board members and their areas of responsibility.

“Four board members—Stanislav Ignatovets, Aleksandr Jefremov, Raine Pajo, and Tiit Hõbejõgi—are experienced leaders within the Eesti Energia Group with strong strategic competencies and extensive knowledge of the group and their respective fields,” said Karp.

Hannes Reinula, an external member from outside the Eesti Energia Group, will join the new board, bringing 30 years of international experience in the chemical industry. “Hannes has managed the international chemical company Eastman Specialties, based in Kohtla-Järve, which produces raw materials for the plastics industry and other feedstocks for the chemical industry. His valuable experience in operating within a highly regulated sector will support Enefit’s chemical industry plans,” added Karp.

According to Karp, Enefit Power's development encompasses several key objectives. “First, we need to identify the technically and economically optimal solution to ensure Estonia’s supply security for electricity consumers. Second, we must maintain shale mining volumes and a reasonable production cost level to support Estonia’s energy security and competitive oil production. "Thirdly, it is crucial to advance our chemical transformation projects to ensure that Enefit Power's future production has a smaller environmental footprint and generates greater value for the Estonian state," said Lauri Karp, outlining the Board's and company's objectives.

The employment of board members Arles Taal, Meelis Goldberg, and Erkki Kaisla will conclude. “These leaders have made significant contributions to the company's development, including steering Enefit Power through the energy crisis and taking essential steps for the successful development of the chemical industry,” noted Lauri Karp.

Enefit Power is engaged in oil shale mining, electricity and liquid fuel production, and the development of the chemical industry of the future. The board, which consists of six members, is responsible for the executive management of Enefit Power.
