Charging Electric Vehicles Becomes Even More Convenient for Customers visiting Rimi Grocery Stores
Enefit has installed its first electric vehicle chargers at Rimi grocery stores located in Järveküla in Harjumaa, Põltsamaa, and on Vilde tee in Tallinn. In the coming weeks, additional chargers will be installed at Rimi stores in Valga and Võru. Soon, electric vehicle charging will be available at 20 Rimi locations across Estonia.
“We are bringing electric vehicle charging closer to people’s everyday routines. Each small step like this makes vehicle charging more convenient and simplifies the decision to switch to an electric car—especially for those who do not have charging facilities at home,” explained Jaanus Riiner, Head of eMobility at Enefit, about the decision to place Enefit Volt chargers at grocery stores.
Riiner added that partnering with Rimi is particularly gratifying, as both Enefit and Rimi share similar values in their operations. “Environmental sustainability and the ambition to offer high-quality, sustainable solutions to customers have brought us together in this collaboration,” said Riiner.
“Time savings and convenience are essential aspects of our customers’ shopping journey, and every development that enables us to provide a comprehensive and fulfilling shopping experience—beyond just the purchasing itself—contributes to making our customers’ lives easier. One less stop on the way home means more time spent with family,” commented Marta Vihtre, Rimi’s Marketing Manager.
Last year, Enefit announced that in 2024, it would embark on a larger-scale installation of public chargers at Rimi grocery stores: 32 new Enefit Volt chargers will be installed at 16 Rimi stores across Estonia. Specifically, these chargers will be located at Rimi stores in Haabersti, Vilde, Kalevipoja, Tööstuse, and Männiku in Tallinn, as well as in Tartu Rebase Rimi, and in Laagri, Kärdla, Türi, Põltsamaa, Kohtla-Järve, and Valga. Of these, ten will be ultra-fast chargers.
The first chargers have now been added to the network, and dedicated work continues. Additionally, Enefit has agreed with Rimi to install an additional nine chargers at Rimi locations in Järveküla, Tapa, Kärberi, and Keila.
To celebrate the installation of the new chargers, Enefit Volt is offering a 30% charging discount next week (11–17 November) at the Vilde, Järveküla, and Põltsamaa Rimi chargers.
Enefit Volt is Estonia’s largest electric vehicle charging network and is powered entirely by green electricity. With over a thousand charging points, Enefit Volt’s network extends from Estonia to the German border. Enefit is also seeking location partners with commercial properties to invest in charging solutions together, creating the best charging options for customers.
