I am an intern data specialist at Enefit and started my internship at the beginning of June. In just my second week, I had the great opportunity to visit Enefit’s Riga office with Santa Tohver, head of the Estonian market. We also made a short stop at one of Enefit’s clients in Pärnu, who is in the process of installing Enefit Volt car chargers.

I started my day with excitement and quite early. We met up with the team and began filming video clips for social media. I’ve had experience in marketing before but this was an entirely different experience. We were equipped with microphones and the filming involved multiple cameras and a drone. While I’m more used to being behind the scenes, this time I found myself in front of the camera as one of the main figures. I have to admit, it was unusual at first, but as the day went on, I felt quite comfortable in this role.

We began our journey from Tallinn in an electric car, heading to Enefit Volt’s client, Pärnamäed Bakery, near Pärnu. The journey was quick and enjoyable. During our journey, we discussed the energy sector with our colleagues and had the opportunity to get to know each other better. The electric car ride was smooth, and in the future, it will certainly be very convenient to charge the car while taking a break at a café.

When we arrived, we were greeted by Andris Petersons, a board member of the bakery, and the smell of freshly baked pastries. We took a closer look at the bakery, focusing on both the charging needs of electric cars and the bakery products. Through interviewing Andris, I got to see the demand for Enefit’s services from a completely different perspective. Although in this case our client was a bakery that wanted to offer electric car charging to its customers, I had often thought of Enefit Volt clients as direct service users. It was very enlightening to hear how car chargers are not only essential for car users but also create value for service providers and other businesses.

We set off again and made a quick stop at an Enefit Volt charger in Häädemeeste to recharge both the car and ourselves before continuing on to the Riga office.

None of us had visited the Riga office before, but we had heard it was quite impressive, so the anticipation was high. Upon arrival, we were not disappointed; it was indeed a beautiful office. It was new, modern, bright, and much more besides. I would certainly love to work there myself. When parking we had the choice of nearly ten Enefit Volt chargers, which made our electric car ‘light up with excitement’. We made our way to the ninth floor to meet our colleagues there. After a warm reception, we took a tour of the office and settled into a comfortable meeting room. Talking about the energy market in Latvia, I was surprised to discover that the market dynamics there are very different from those in Estonia. Even though I was only in my second week of the internship, I learned a lot of new and interesting things and, to my surprise, was able to contribute to some topics. By the end of the day, my brain was quite tired from the information overload, and I fell asleep right after we started the return journey.

I had a very enjoyable and interesting experience interacting with a client face-to-face outside the office, using Enefit’s services, and meeting colleagues from a neighbouring country. I highly recommend everyone to visit the Riga office!
