Get ready! KredEx is once again opening up the grant for the installation of solar panels and battery storage

When looking for ways to save on electricity costs and grow the value of your property, solar panels together with a storage solution are the best option. In addition to being able to save money, a home solar plant provides an opportunity to produce 100% clean energy and contribute to a greener future.

As with every investment, the decision to install a solar plant has to be considered carefully. The installation of panels is possible if:

  • you live in a private house, semi-detached house or terraced house that has a use and occupancy permit and that is not subject to heritage conservation as an architectural or cultural monument;
  • the roof has enough free space and is not obscured by tall trees. The panels can also be installed on the ground close to the building;
  • the electrical system of the building is safe, the roof is durable and does not require renovation in the near future.

When discussing the price of the solution, some people say that producing and storing solar energy is too costly. The actual profitability of the project depends on how skilfully the solar power plant is planned and how much of the energy you produce is used in the consumption point.

In other words, if the production of solar energy is in accordance with the consumption of electricity and the payback period is suitable, there is no reason to consider solar energy expensive. In addition, the existing grant is helping to reduce the burden of the investment.

What can be expected from the KredEx grant today?

It is a good opportunity to use KredEx’s soon to open reconstruction grant for small residences for the installation of solar panels and storage. The aim of the grant is to increase energy efficiency and ensure a better indoor climate for small residences, decrease energy costs and encourage the use of renewable energy.

Financial support can be applied for up to 30% of the cost of the investment (max €20,000). For the remaining 70% of the own contribution, we offer financing.

As of now, the application round is not open and the relevant regulation is undergoing coordination, but the following can be expected from the grant.

  1. **Easier applying.** Applying should become easier thanks to the E-toetus online environment and the use of standardised unit prices. (Source: [Postimees](https://majandus.postimees.ee/7830088/ullatus-majaomanikele-kredex-peatas-vaikeelamute-rekonstrueerimistoetuse))
  2. **Easier disbursements.** The advantage of purchasing the work as a service enables more clear supervision over the quality and price of the work, which in turn simplifies the procedure process. 3. **Purchasing a storage option for solar stations installed without a grant.** According to the current rules, the KredEx reconstruction grant can only be used to purchase a storage option for a solar park that has been installed with the help of the same grant. 4. **The period for the work is 12 months.** Time will play an important role in receiving the grant, as all the work to be done with the help of the grant must be completed at least one year after the approval of the application.
