Eesti Energia's subsidiary Enefit Polska signed a record electricity sales agreement with the international telecommunications company Orange Polska.

During the three-year contract, Enefit will supply 510 GWh of electricity annually, which will cover the electricity consumption of all Orange Polska's server rooms, mobile base stations, control centers, offices and customer service points. The annual volume of electricity sold is comparable to the electricity consumption of the whole of Estonia in the summer month, which is almost 650 GWh.

Agnes Roos , Member of the Management Board responsible for Eesti Energia's Customer Services, emphasized that the agreement with Orange Polska is in many ways a breakthrough for the entire group.

"In a few years, Poland has become our second largest sales market after Estonia. We see the fastest sales growth in Poland and great potential for growth in both the development of renewable energy and the offering of smart energy services to customers. The successful transaction shows both the strength of our international team and proves that there is room in the Polish market for an energy seller who offers solutions that meet the customer's needs and a long-term partnership," Roos noted.

Enefit started serving business customers in the Polish electricity and gas market in the summer of 2017. The volume of the Polish electricity market is about 160 TWh per year, which is more than six times larger than the total Baltic electricity market, which was 25 TWh last year: 8 in Estonia, 7 in Latvia and 10 TWh in Lithuania.

In addition, Eesti Energia's renewable energy company Enefit Green entered the Polish renewable energy market in June 2019, when an agreement was signed for the acquisition of 20 solar parks. In addition, the company is working on new solar energy projects in the Polish market, which will further increase Enefit Green's solar energy portfolio there.

Enefit sells energy and energy solutions to customers in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Finland.
